As the sun starts to make an appearance, so do summer hairstyles. They need to be stylish yet practical as the heat and humidity rise. From twists to braids, here is a lovely selection of styles to dress with your hair accessories.
We all have a go-to style, but it is fun to explore new hairstyles and create easy summer looks that seem more complex than they really are. All you need is a little inspiration and a few simple techniques, and we would love to help.
1. Banana Clip Ponytail

When you are feeling warm in the summer sun, you want your hair up and away from your face and neck, so why not try a quick and easy banana clip style? It is effortless, kind to your hair and a stylish alternative to a basic ponytail.

2. Half-Up Bun

This style is perfect for summer days when you want to make a little extra effort, such as special occasions.
Create it by twisting both sides of the front section of your hair, turning them into a bun and securing it with a Curved French Pleat Comb.

Why not try it with a Long Hair Pin, like this:

3. Twisted Crown Half-Up Style

Or try a braided crown:

Twisted and braided crown styles were very popular in 2021. To create this simple yet stunning look, curl your hair, twist the front sections away from your face on either side and secure them at the back with a claw clip. You could also secure the braid with a barrette.
4. Chignon Style

Creating a bun with hair pins and chignon pins could not be simpler. The video below shows how to create a half-up style with a chignon pin, and the same technique works when securing all of your hair. Bear in mind that thicker, heavier hair may need two pins. This style also uses side combs to complete the look, such as our 2x Large French Side Combs.

5. Side Braid

Why not take your braid further by securing it with The Original Small Hair Claw Clip?
Claw clips are not just for holding your hair up: they can also secure a braid in a lovely, unexpected way.
Braids are low maintenance and simple, yet they really elevate your look. They need little attention through the day and keep your hair away from your face and neck as the humidity rises, so you stay cool and stylish.
6. Bubble Braids

Bubble braids first became popular with scrunchies, but you can also create this style in a new way with a selection of barrettes. We created this look using our Small Barrette Clips from our Spring and Summer 2021 collections.
