Short hairstyles for women have loads of perks - you save heaps of money on shampoo, you don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to get your blow dry done before work and you'll always look effortlessly cool and sophisticated. And while you might not need an army of clips, claws and bands to keep your locks under control, the right accessory can still add a flash of interest to your look. Here are some of our favourite ways to wear hair accessories with short hairstyles.
If your scarf is square shaped, like our Rosie Fox vintage style scarves, then fold it in half to make a triangle shape. Then keep folding until you have a long, thin band. If your scarf is rectangular, you won't need to fold it in half first, just keep folding until you've made the thin band.
Next, fold the scarf around your head, holding the ends out in front of you. Tie a knot in front and then bring the ends round to the back and make another knot to secure it. Tuck the ends neatly out of sight. Done!

Kirby grips, with their tight grasp on the hair, are ideal to add a pop of sparkle to a shorter 'do. Experiment with layering them up, or grip back flyaways and fringes with a single statement clip or some mini hair claws. For perennial summer style, a pretty hair flower set on a strong crocodile clip is a must.
All these short hair accessories are super easy to use - just hold back the hair where you want the clip placed and slide it firmly into place.
For the ultimate low maintenance style update, a headband is the obvious choice, regardless of hair length. Just slide it behind your ears and... that's it. No more worrying about heavy clips sliding out of short hair or having teeth that need a bit more length or volume to sit snugly. Many of our headbands are set on thin bands that can be covered by even the shortest hair.
Finally, for a chic update on an every day look, our French handmade Narrow Headbands are extremely flexible and mould perfectly to the shape of your head. They're long lasting, won't fade or snap and the flexibility means pressure headaches will finally be a thing of the past.
Barrettes are very popular and versatile hair accessories and the range of sizes means there's something there for everyone. See how Poppi wears one of our French marble barrettes to create a chic low ponytail in our video:
