Scam Alert: How To Verify A Genuine TEGEN Job Offer
Genuine TEGEN vacancies are advertised on Indeed, and all our roles are based in our Brighton Location.
We will never:
Approach you on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp or Telegram about a job
Advertise a role through an advert in a mobile game or a social media reel
Ask you to pay a fee, buy a starter kit, or buy equipment
Ask you for your bank details, or ask you to send money through a transfer app or a crypto platform
Offer paid work you can do from home
This is what the scam may claim to offer:
The scammer might claim to be part of the TEGEN brand and say they are recruiting people for work-from-home "packaging" or "packing" roles, earning around £100 to £200 a day. The approach usually starts with a Facebook advert, a reel, or a mobile game, then quickly moves to WhatsApp or Telegram. The people behind it sometimes quote our registered company name and company number to look convincing: TA MHT Online Ltd
They are not us! We have no connection to them, we do not offer roles like this, and we have reported this and continue to do so.
If you think you have been approached by these scammers our advice is the following:
Stop all contact with the people involved.
Contact us before you reply to anything or share any personal details. You can contact us directly by email at report@tegenaccessories.co.uk.
If you have screenshots of the messages or the advert, please do send them. They genuinely help us get these accounts taken down and might help prevent somebody else being targeted
If you have already paid money
We are so sorry
Contact your bank or card provider straight away and tell them you have been the victim of a scam. If you sent the money from a UK bank account you may be entitled to get it back under the Authorised Push Payment reimbursement rules, and acting quickly improves your chances.
Report it at reportfraud.police.uk or on 0300 123 2040. If you are in Scotland, please call Police Scotland on 101 instead, as Report Fraud does not cover Scotland.
Please also be aware that people who have lost money to this scam are sometimes approached a second time by someone offering to recover it for a fee. That is a further scam. Nobody legitimate will ever ask you to pay to get your money back.
We cannot refund money paid to someone impersonating us, because it never reached us. We're happy to confirm in writing that this is a scam using our name, if that helps with your bank or your police report. Just ask. Again, you can email directly about this issue at report@tegenaccessories.co.uk
