Ascot has been going for 300 years and has seen its fair share of fashion from outfits like Audrey Hepburn in “My Fair Lady” to Russian dancer Kristina Rihanoff who was asked to change after she turned up wearing a strappy dress made out of betting slips in 2014.
One thing has remained the same throughout; Ascot is the place to show off your extraordinary, unique and fashionable headwear. In an attempt to preserve the tradition and values of Royal Ascot, the powers that be have laid out a strict dress code that must be adhered to at all times during the Royal Ascot weekend (16th – 20th June). Below is a video of this year’s requirements.
Royal Ascot Style Guide 2015
It all sounds rather serious doesn’t it? But we at Tegen Accessories believe hats and fascinators should be fun as well as stylish and nothing makes us happier than when a customer finds their perfect one. This could be because it’s the exact colour they were looking for, the motif matches the design on their dress or they were unaware that there are alternatives to giant feathers and big frilly flowers. We have a large selection of styles, colours and sizes and we’re confident we’ll have you looking fabulously guide book friendly in no time at all.
Our Floral Looped Fascinators On Combs are particularly great for Ascot as they have a base diameter of 13.5cm and can be worn anywhere in the hair making them one of our most versatile pieces. Available in several colours. At £19.95 these are really good value for money. Click on the photo for more info.
This Jade Flower Hat by Peter Bettley is perfect for the races and is an adjustable fit with a draw string inside. Bold colours will complement a black dress or plain trouser suit beautifully. This designer hat is just £195.00. Click on the photo for more info.

Remember when popping into our boutique shop in the Brighton lanes, make sure to bring your dress with you so we can help you match your headpiece perfectly. We try to display all measurements of our hats and fascinators on our website, but if there’s any doubt, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re always delighted to receive photos of our hats/fascinators at Ascot.
And just for fun here’s a photo of Larisa Katz wearing a hat made from chocolate wrappers at Royal Ascot 2013.
